Turnquist Partners Realtors, a leading Austin real estate firm, is a local sponsor for the Go Red for Women Summit in Austin, the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease in women. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, killing more women than all forms of cancer combined. That is why the Go Red For Women Summit is taking action to help educate Austinites on the importance of their heart health.

The Capital Area Division of the American Heart Association has a very active Go Red For Women campaign, and there are many ways that people can become involved to help others to prevent heart disease.

Forbes Magazine named Austin, Texas the fastest growing city in the United States for the fourth straight year based on six economic and population based metrics from Moody Analytics that can be found here.    This news came on the heels of Austin Business Journal reporting that Austin, Texas has 110 people a day moving to the greater Austin area.  Both Residential and Commercial Real Estate inventory has shrunk to all-time lows as value sky rocket as a result.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, a survey by Realtor.com shows that falling head-over-heels for a house is fairly common—69% of respondents reported that they have had a home crush. House-hunters with a “home crush,” as defined in the survey, are drawn to the same house again and again. Realtor.com surveyed 1,082 individuals from Jan. 9 to Jan. 20 who reported having had a home crush.

Many people approach house hunting the same way they approach dating, by checking compatibility and fit, but the intangible factors are what tips a house from crush to true love, says Leslie Piper, Realtor.com’s consumer-housing specialist and an agent with Pacific Union in Lafayette, Calif.

The Texas housing market continues to show its strength, especially in the luxury home market. In fact, luxury home sales are experiencing double-digit growth, making them one of the fastest-growing segments in the state, according to the2014 Texas Luxury Home Sales Report.

The report, released today by the Texas Association of REALTORS®, explains that Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio saw an average 35% increase in the sale of homes priced at $1 million and higher from January to October 2013.  While Austin saw a 55 percent increase in luxury home sales in 2013.
